Terms of Use & End User License Agreement
Record My · Version 1.0 · Effective October 30, 2026
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement, together called the “Terms,” govern your access to and use of Record My, the screen and camera recorder for Mac. By downloading, installing, opening, accessing, purchasing, or using Record My, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms, to the Record My Privacy Policy, and to the Record My Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Record My.
Acknowledgement. You acknowledge and agree that these Terms are concluded between you and MAHTCA GLOBAL (the “developer”), and not with Apple, and that the developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for Record My and its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance, support, or warranty services in respect of Record My, and is not responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to Record My or your possession or use of it, except as expressly provided in these Terms or in Apple’s own published terms. Section 35 (Apple Third-Party Beneficiary) describes Apple’s separate and independent right to enforce these Terms against you.
Record My keeps the recordings you make in its library on your Mac. Deleting a recording from the library, including with Clean Up, is permanent, and so are retaking, discarding, or removing the last five seconds while you record. An app crash, a system crash, a power failure, a full disk, a disconnected camera or display, or any other interruption while you are recording, editing, exporting, or saving can leave a recording, project, or export incomplete, damaged, unreadable, or lost. The developer does not guarantee that your recordings, projects, or exports will be preserved. As soon as you have made a recording that matters to you, save or export a copy of it to a location of your choice, and keep regular backups. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not responsible for any loss of, or damage to, your recordings or data. See Sections 2, 3, 4, 28, and 29.
1. Overview
Record My is a screen and camera recorder for Mac. It lets you record an area, a window, or a display of your Mac; record in shapes; record your camera on its own or together with your screen; record several displays at once; include sound from your microphone and sound played by your Mac; and review, trim, retime, reframe, annotate, save, and export your recordings, depending on the features available to you (see Section 18).
Record My does not require an account. It is designed to run locally on your Mac. Your recordings, projects, exports, and related content are stored on your Mac, or wherever you choose to save them, and remain under your control, subject to your device settings, operating-system behaviour, Apple services, backup settings, iCloud settings, and any third-party apps or services you choose to use.
2. Keep Copies of Important Recordings
You are solely responsible for keeping copies and backups of your recordings, projects, and exports. Record My keeps the recordings you make in its own library on your Mac. The library is not a backup or an archive: recordings in it can be deleted permanently (see Section 4), and they can be lost if Record My’s data is deleted, damaged, or reset, or if your Mac or its storage fails.
As soon as you have made a recording that matters to you, save a copy of it to a location of your choice - for example with Save Video or by exporting it - and maintain regular backups, for example with Time Machine or another backup system of your choice. Projects do not contain their recordings (see Section 6), and exports may differ from the recording (see Section 5). Do not delete a recording from the library until you have checked that your saved copies are complete and correct and that no project you still need refers to it.
Never rely on Record My’s library, on Undo, or on Record My as the only copy of a recording.
3. Recording, Saving, Interruptions, and Data Loss
Recording, editing, and exporting involve writing large amounts of data to memory and to your storage. Although Record My is designed to handle your recordings carefully, the developer does not guarantee that any recording will be captured, saved, or exported completely or correctly; that it will include every frame, the sound, the pointer, or the camera as you expect; that a saved or exported file will open; or that any recording, project, edit, or data will not be lost or damaged.
A recording, project, or export may be lost, damaged, corrupted, truncated, partially written, out of sync, made unreadable, or left incomplete if any interruption or failure occurs while you are recording or while it is being processed, saved, or exported, including without limitation: Record My quitting or crashing unexpectedly; macOS crashing, restarting, or stopping responding; loss of power, a depleted battery, sleep, or a forced shutdown or restart; you or the operating system force-quitting or terminating Record My, including under low-memory or thermal pressure; a software or system update; your disk or volume becoming full, read-only, disconnected, or damaged; a display, camera, microphone, iPhone used as a camera, or other device being disconnected, switched off, or taken over by another app; a permission being turned off or changed while you record; an external, network, or cloud drive - including iCloud Drive and other file providers - disconnecting, syncing, offloading, or modifying a file while it is in use; another app, user, or process opening, locking, moving, or changing a file; security or antivirus software; file-system errors; or hardware failure.
Some content may not be recorded, or may be recorded differently from how it appears on your screen. For example, content that an app or website protects from recording may appear blank, sound and picture may drift out of step, frames may be dropped when your Mac is busy, and long recordings or high frame rates use a large amount of storage. You agree to check each recording promptly after you make it and to keep your own copies and backups as described in Section 2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer accepts no liability for any loss of, damage to, or corruption of any recording, project, export, file, edit, or data, however caused, including in any of the circumstances described in this Section.
4. Deleting Is Permanent, and Some Changes Cannot Be Undone
Deleting a recording from Record My’s library permanently deletes it. This applies whether you delete a single recording or use a Clean Up option, such as deleting recordings older than a week, keeping only the latest five, or deleting all of them. Deleted recordings are not moved to the Trash and cannot be restored by Record My or by the developer. Record My asks you to confirm each deletion, and by confirming you accept that it is permanent.
While you record, removing the last five seconds, retaking, or discarding a recording also permanently removes what was recorded, and it cannot be brought back. Deleting a recording from the library also breaks every project that refers to it (see Section 6).
Not every change in Record My’s editor can be undone. In particular, changes to trimming, frame rate, speed, scale, resolution, and portrait framing may not be reversible with Undo, and Undo history may be lost when you close a recording or quit Record My.
Deleting a recording from the library does not remove copies of it that exist elsewhere - for example videos you have saved or exported, preview images in projects, backups, or copies you have already sent to any app, service, or person - and Record My does not control those copies.
5. Exports, Formats, and Compatibility
Record My keeps your recordings in its library and can save or export them as new files. Save Video saves the original recording as a video file, without your edits, annotations, trims, or effects. For a recording made in a shape, such as an ellipse, a rounded rectangle, or a freeform shape, the recording in the library and the video made with Save Video contain the full rectangular area around the shape, not only the area inside it.
Exports render your edits into a new file in the format you choose, and the result may differ from what you see in Record My. Without limitation: some formats do not support transparency, so areas outside a shape may be filled with black; animated GIF files support only simple transparency and a limited range of colours, and may lose quality; a PNG sequence is a folder of still images without sound; sound may be left out of an export when the speed has been changed; and exports may be scaled, compressed, or re-timed, and may be very large. Colours, transparency, sound, and playback may look or behave differently in other apps, on other displays, on other devices, or on the services you upload them to, and some apps and services do not support transparent video at all.
The developer does not guarantee that any file will save, export, open, play, or display correctly, or in the same way as in Record My, or that any other application or service will accept or interpret a file created by Record My as you expect. You are responsible for checking every saved or exported file before you rely on it, share it, publish it, deliver it, or delete the recording it was made from.
6. Projects Reference Their Recordings
With Record My Ultra, you can save your edits as a Record My Project (a “.rmy” file) and open it later. A project contains your edits, annotations, and layout, together with a preview image, and refers to the recording it was made from. A project does not contain the recording itself.
If the recording a project refers to is deleted from the library, moved, renamed, or otherwise unavailable, or if Record My’s data is deleted or reset, the project may not open, or may open without its recording, and your edits may become unusable. Copying a project to another Mac, or sending it to another person, does not copy the recording, and the project may not open there. Opening a project requires Ultra. A project saved with a newer version of Record My may not open in an earlier version, and the developer does not guarantee that projects will remain compatible with future versions.
A project’s preview image shows a frame of your recording, and the Finder can display it, together with details such as the duration and size of the recording. Anyone who has the project file can see that image and those details. To keep a finished result, export it, and keep a copy of the original recording as described in Section 2.
7. Camera Effects and Automated Results
Record My’s camera background effects - blurring, removing, or replacing the background behind a person with a colour or a gradient - work automatically, by separating a person from their surroundings. They run on your Mac, do not send your camera image to the developer, and are not generative artificial intelligence.
Their results are approximate, may be imperfect, and vary with the camera, lighting, movement, clothing, objects you hold, the number of people in view, and the settings you choose. Without limitation, an effect may leave parts of the background visible, remove or blur parts of a person, produce rough or flickering edges, or not work at all in some frames. Results may also differ between Macs and between versions of macOS. A background effect is not a privacy or security feature, and it must not be relied on to hide your surroundings, other people, documents, screens, or anything else in view of the camera. Effects are applied in the editor and in exports; they are not applied to the live camera view while you record, and the camera recording in the library keeps the original, unaltered image.
Other features that follow automatic rules - such as automatically hiding or moving the camera away from the pointer or from drawings, scenes and their transitions, automatic resolution, and portrait framing - may also not produce the result you expect. Nothing produced by Record My is legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing every result before you rely on it, publish it, share it, or delete anything.
8. What Your Recordings Capture, and Hiding Sensitive Details
Record My records what appears in the area, window, or display you choose while you record, and, depending on the sound settings you choose, sound from your microphone and sound played by your Mac. A recording may therefore include content you did not intend to record, such as notifications, messages, emails, passwords or codes that are displayed or typed, browser tabs, file names, other windows that move into the recorded area, other people’s names, faces, and voices, and personal, confidential, or financial information. Before you record, close or hide anything you do not want to record and consider turning on Do Not Disturb or a Focus. Review every recording before you share it.
With Ultra, Record My provides annotation tools that let you manually blur, pixelate, or black out parts of a recording. Record My does not detect or hide personal or sensitive information automatically. You must place, size, and time each redaction yourself, make it follow content that moves or scrolls, and check every frame of the result. Blurring and pixelation may not fully hide content, particularly large or high-contrast text, and a blackout hides content more completely. Redactions appear only in the files you export: the original recording in the library, videos saved with Save Video, and copies made outside Record My are not redacted.
The developer does not guarantee that any redaction, crop, shape, or effect will hide what you intend to hide. You are solely responsible for removing or hiding personal data and other sensitive information before you share, publish, or deliver any recording, as described in the Acceptable Use Policy.
9. Recording Others and Consent
Recording other people, their voices, their screens, or their content is regulated by law in many places. Some countries and states require the consent of every participant before a call, meeting, or conversation is recorded; others require that participants are informed. Employers, schools, clients, and online meeting, streaming, and learning services may have their own rules about recording.
You are solely responsible for: (a) informing, and obtaining any consent required from, every person who appears on camera, who can be heard, or whose screen, messages, content, or personal data appear in a recording; (b) complying with all recording-consent, wiretapping, eavesdropping, privacy, data-protection, employment, education, and other laws that apply to you and to the people you record; (c) complying with the policies of your employer, school, or clients and with the terms of the services you record; and (d) never recording anyone covertly or in a way that the law does not allow.
Record My does not notify other people that you are recording. Any recording indicator that macOS displays appears only on your Mac and does not inform people on a call or meeting, or people near you, that they are being recorded. The developer does not advise you on whether a particular recording is lawful. Detailed rules are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
10. Acceptance, Withdrawal, and Termination
You must accept these Terms to use Record My. Record My does not ask you to click to agree: you accept these Terms by downloading, installing, opening, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Record My, or any feature, in-app purchase, or subscription within it, and you accept them again each time you do so. These Terms remain in force until terminated by you or by the developer.
Termination by you. You may terminate these Terms at any time by ceasing all use of Record My and deleting it from your devices. Deleting Record My does not cancel a subscription; to stop future charges, cancel the subscription through Apple as described in Section 20.
Termination by the developer. Your rights under these Terms terminate automatically, without notice, if you fail to comply with any provision of these Terms or of the Acceptable Use Policy. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of Record My and delete it from your devices. No refund or compensation is owed in connection with any termination, except where required by applicable law.
Survival. Termination does not affect any obligation, right, or remedy that, by its nature, is intended to survive, including Sections 2 to 9, 13, 14, 24 to 35, 37, 38, and 41 to 45.
11. Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Record My on your own, or older where the law of your country requires a higher age for the use of digital services without parental consent. If you are under that age, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Record My only with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of Record My, including any recording you make and any purchase made on your device or with your Apple Account. By using Record My, you represent that these requirements are met. If they are not met, do not download, install, open, purchase, or use Record My.
12. License to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and with the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (the “Apple Usage Rules”), the developer grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Record My, including its Quick Look preview extension, on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Usage Rules.
You do not acquire ownership of Record My, its source code, object code, design, interface, icons, branding, workflows, layouts, backgrounds, documentation, or other intellectual property. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by the developer and its licensors.
13. Restrictions on the Software
You may not distribute Record My or any copy, component, modified version, extracted portion, build, package, binary, installer, or derivative of Record My.
Except where expressly permitted by applicable law, you must not: (a) copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, assign, publish, upload, host, mirror, share, transfer, or make Record My available to any third party; (b) distribute Record My outside authorized Apple distribution channels; (c) include Record My in another software package, bundle, marketplace, repository, device image, managed deployment, or commercial service without the developer’s prior written consent; (d) modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, or create derivative works from Record My; (e) bypass, disable, reset, or interfere with any in-app purchase, subscription, entitlement, license, purchase record, or security mechanism in Record My, including by editing, copying, or deleting the records Record My keeps on your Mac for these purposes; (f) extract, copy, or redistribute, as such or as your own work, the icons, graphics, backgrounds, layouts, or other content bundled with Record My; (g) remove, alter, obscure, or misrepresent any copyright, trademark, ownership, licensing, security, or attribution notice; or (h) use Record My to build, train, benchmark, or market a competing product in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.
These restrictions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law and do not limit rights that cannot legally be restricted.
14. Permitted Use and Your Responsibility
Record My is intended for lawful, good-faith use. You are solely responsible for: (a) the recordings, camera footage, sound, projects, exports, and other content you record, edit, save, export, publish, share, or delete with Record My, and for their content; (b) having the rights, permissions, consents, and authority needed to do so, including under recording-consent, privacy, data-protection, copyright, trademark, contract, confidentiality, and publicity law, and in particular the consent of the people you record, as described in Section 9; (c) keeping copies and backups of your recordings and files; (d) reviewing every recording, file, and result before you rely on it, publish it, or share it, including hiding personal and sensitive information as described in Section 8; (e) complying with all applicable laws, regulations, professional rules, workplace and school policies, the terms of the services you record, and obligations owed to others; and (f) ensuring that your use of Record My does not violate the rights of any person or organization.
You must not use Record My to record anyone covertly or without any consent the law requires, to monitor, track, or surveil anyone, to harass or intimidate anyone, to record or redistribute copyrighted or confidential content without permission, to create misleading recordings of real people or events, to commit fraud, to destroy or conceal evidence, to infringe anyone’s rights, or for any other unlawful or harmful purpose. Detailed rules are set out in the Record My Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
15. No Data Collection by the Developer
Record My is designed not to collect, transmit, sell, rent, share, analyze, or remotely store your recordings, camera footage, sound, projects, exports, their content, usage analytics, identifiers, or telemetry on servers controlled by the developer. Record My does not operate a user-account system, does not upload your recordings, and does not use them for advertising, tracking, profiling, analytics, model training, resale, or marketing.
To work, Record My keeps certain information locally on your Mac - for example, your recordings library, your preferences, and a record of your purchase status as last confirmed by the App Store, which is kept in your Mac’s keychain and may remain there if you delete Record My. This information stays on your Mac and is not received, accessed, or held by the developer. Further detail is provided in the Privacy Policy.
16. Local Processing, Storage, and File Access
Record My’s recording, camera-effect, editing, and export features are designed to run on your Mac. Record My keeps the recordings you make in its library, inside its own data folder on your Mac. Videos you save, projects, and exports are written to the locations you choose in the Save dialog, and Record My opens the projects you choose, including when you open a project from the Finder. Record My’s Quick Look extension shows previews of Record My projects in the Finder, using the preview image stored inside each project.
You can record from your Mac’s built-in camera, from a connected camera, or from your iPhone through Continuity Camera, a service provided by macOS. Record My does not request access to your location, contacts, calendars, photo library, or accessibility features.
Your recordings remain subject to your own storage, operating-system behaviour, iCloud settings, backup settings, and the other apps and services you use. The developer does not control iCloud, device backups, file providers, cloud-storage services, external or network drives, your iPhone, the services you upload recordings to, or any other system or service outside Record My.
17. Screen, Camera, and Microphone Permissions
macOS asks for your permission before Record My can use your screen, camera, or microphone, and Record My asks only when a feature needs it. Screen Recording permission is required to record your screen and the sound your Mac plays; it is requested during the welcome tour if you choose to allow it there, or when you first record your screen. Camera permission is requested only when you use a camera, for example to show a camera preview while you set up a recording or to record your camera. Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to record sound from your microphone.
Record My uses these permissions only for the recordings you start and the previews you open. You can grant, change, or revoke them at any time in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security. If you deny or revoke a permission, some features will not work; for example, if microphone access is denied, a recording may continue without microphone sound. Indicators that macOS shows while your screen, camera, or microphone is in use appear only on your Mac and do not inform other people that they are being recorded (see Section 9).
18. Free and Ultra Features
Some of Record My’s features are available free of charge, and others require Record My Ultra (“Ultra”), which is available as an auto-renewable subscription or as a one-time purchase. Currently, the free features include recording an area, a window, or a display with your chosen sound and pointer settings; pausing, resuming, removing the last five seconds, retaking, and discarding a recording; playing back recordings; saving the original recording as a video; and managing your recordings library. Ultra currently includes, among other features, recording in shapes, camera recording and recording your screen with your camera, recording all displays at once, trimming, speed and framing changes, annotations including the blur, pixelate, and blackout tools, exports to other formats, and projects.
The features included in each tier are described in Record My, on its App Store page, and on its website. The developer may add, change, limit, move between the free tier and Ultra, or remove any feature at any time, subject to applicable law and Apple’s rules. No description of a feature, whether in Record My, on its App Store page, or on its website, is a promise that the feature will remain available, free of charge, or unchanged.
Free features are provided free of charge, as a courtesy, and to the maximum extent permitted by law without any warranty or liability of any kind.
When Ultra is not active - for example because a subscription has ended, a purchase has been refunded or revoked, or Record My has been unable to confirm your purchase with the App Store (see Section 20) - Ultra features return to the locked state. Record My is designed not to delete recordings, projects, or exports you have already made when this happens: they remain on your Mac, but you may be unable to open projects, edit or export recordings, or use other Ultra features until Ultra is active again.
19. Purchases, Payments, and Refunds
In-app purchases as licenses. Each in-app purchase grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the corresponding features for the period and on the terms shown at the time of purchase. You do not acquire ownership of any feature, code, content, or other component of Record My. In-app purchases are licenses to use, not sales of goods, and remain subject to these Terms, the Apple Usage Rules, and applicable law.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple is the merchant of record. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The developer does not receive or store your payment details. Apple may process purchase, refund, tax, invoice, subscription, device, account, and transaction information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies. The developer is not responsible for Apple’s payment processing, refund decisions, billing rules, taxes, exchange rates, chargebacks, subscription management, Ask to Buy approvals, or App Store availability. Prices are those shown in the App Store at the time of purchase; they may differ between countries and regions and may change over time.
Purchases that need approval. If a purchase requires approval - for example through Apple’s Ask to Buy - Ultra is not provided until the purchase is approved, and the developer is not responsible for whether, when, or how it is approved.
Restoring purchases. Where supported by Apple, you can use Restore Purchases in Record My to restore a valid purchase or subscription on a Mac signed in with the Apple Account used to make it. The developer does not guarantee that a purchase can be restored on any particular device or account.
Refunds and withdrawal. Requests for refunds or cancellations must be made to Apple and are subject to Apple’s policies and applicable law. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days. Where you request that the digital content or service be supplied immediately, you acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent national law, you lose your right of withdrawal once supply has begun.
20. Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
Record My currently offers Ultra as three auto-renewable subscriptions - yearly, monthly, and weekly - in a single subscription group. A subscription grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access Ultra features for the duration of an active, paid subscription period. When a subscription lapses, is canceled, is refunded, is revoked, or otherwise ends, that license ends, and Ultra features return to the locked state, as described in Section 18, until you subscribe again or make a one-time purchase.
The subscription title, length, and price shown in the App Store and in Record My at the time of purchase are the binding terms of that subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings; Record My’s Manage Subscription option opens them for you. Moving between the yearly, monthly, and weekly subscriptions is handled by Apple under its rules for subscription upgrades, downgrades, and crossgrades.
Canceling stops future renewals; the current paid period remains active until its end date, and no refund is provided for any unused portion except where required by law. If Apple cannot collect payment, Apple may offer a billing grace period during which access continues; if payment is not collected, the subscription lapses. If the price of a subscription increases, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent. If you make the one-time purchase while a subscription is active, the subscription is not canceled automatically: it continues to renew, and you continue to be charged, until you cancel it through Apple.
Record My checks your purchases on your Mac using records provided by Apple, and checks them again from time to time while it is open. If your Mac cannot reach the App Store, Record My may, as a courtesy, continue to provide Ultra for a limited time: currently, a subscription until the end of its paid period plus up to 7 days, and the one-time purchase for up to 14 days after Record My last confirmed it. After that, Ultra features pause until the purchase can be confirmed again. This courtesy is not an entitlement and may change. Record My may be temporarily unable to recognize a valid purchase - for example, on a Mac that has not been online since the purchase, during an outage of Apple’s services, or if the record Record My keeps on your Mac is missing or damaged - and the developer is not liable for any such temporary unavailability.
21. One-Time Purchase
Record My offers Ultra as a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license - not ownership - to access the Ultra feature set for as long as the purchase is recognized as valid by Apple’s App Store systems and for as long as the developer makes the applicable Record My product, feature set, and platform support available. “One-time purchase” means that you pay once for that license, without a subscription; it does not mean that the license, Record My, or any feature will be available for any particular period, or for the life of the user, the developer, any company, any device, any operating system, the App Store, Apple services, or any third-party service. It does not transfer to you any ownership interest in Record My, any feature, any code, any content, or any underlying intellectual property.
The developer will not charge you again for the same Ultra feature set on the same supported platform, provided that: (a) the purchase remains valid and is not refunded, reversed, revoked, canceled, charged back, found fraudulent, or otherwise invalidated; (b) Record My remains available, maintained, operable, and supported on the relevant platform; (c) your device, operating system, Apple Account, and Apple’s services continue to support recognition or restoration of the purchase; and (d) continued access is not prevented by law, regulation, court order, platform rule, security requirement, technical limitation, or circumstances outside the developer’s reasonable control.
A one-time purchase covers the Ultra feature set identified at the time of purchase, together with any fixes, compatibility updates, or improvements the developer chooses to provide, but not separate future applications, separate products or services, features released as a distinct paid product or subscription, features on platforms not included in the original purchase, or third-party services offered separately. Where supported by Apple, you may restore a valid purchase with Restore Purchases in Record My, using the Apple Account used to make it. The developer does not control Apple’s purchase records, refund decisions, App Store account status, App Store availability, device compatibility, or operating-system support.
22. Apple Terms and Third-Party Services
Your use of Record My may also be subject to Apple’s App Store terms, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, device and operating-system terms, iCloud terms, and any applicable third-party terms, and you agree to comply with them.
Record My may use, link to, or interact with products and services provided by Apple or by other third parties, such as the App Store and its purchase services, Continuity Camera and other macOS services, your iPhone, cameras, microphones, and displays and their software, iCloud Drive and other file providers, the apps and services you record or upload recordings to, and websites you open from links, including the developer’s own published websites and supervisory-authority websites (together, “External Services”). External Services are provided by their operators under their own terms and policies, which may restrict or prohibit recording or redistributing their content. The developer does not control, endorse, monitor, or assume responsibility for any External Service, and you use them at your own risk; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer disclaims any liability arising from your use of any External Service.
Apple is not responsible for Record My, its content, maintenance, support, claims, warranties, or your use of it, except as Apple may separately provide under its own terms or applicable law.
23. Maintenance and Support
The developer is responsible for maintenance and support of Record My only as stated in these Terms or as required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Record My. The developer has no obligation to recover, repair, or restore any recording, project, file, or data, and has no means to do so. Support questions can be sent to recordmy@mahtca.com. Legal notices, complaints, and claims should be directed to: office@mahtca.com - MAHTCA GLOBAL, Bechetului, Nr. 26, Malu Mare, Dolj, Romania; Romanian Trade Register: J16/663/2018; VAT / CUI: 39070729.
24. Ownership of Your Content
You retain all rights you already have in your recordings, camera footage, sound, projects, and other content. Record My does not claim ownership of any recording or other content you create or process with it. You represent that you have the rights, permissions, consents, and lawful authority needed for everything you do with Record My, including where a recording contains the work, content, screen, personal data, voice, or likeness of another person. Any rights in a recording remain subject to the rights of others in the material it contains (see Sections 8 and 9).
25. Intellectual Property
Record My, including its software, design, interface, graphics, icons, backgrounds, layouts, workflows, branding, names, documentation, and related materials, is owned by the developer or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property laws. You may not use the Record My name, logos, branding, screenshots, interface, or other proprietary materials in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, resale, redistribution, or ownership without the developer’s prior written permission.
26. Privacy and Data Roles
The developer does not receive, access, host, or store the recordings or other content that you handle with Record My. Because the developer never sees or holds your content, the developer does not act as a “controller” or “processor” of it within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the UK GDPR, or equivalent laws. When you use Record My to record, edit, or share content - including recordings that show or contain personal data about you or other people, such as their faces, voices, names, messages, or screens - you determine the purposes and means of that processing on your own device, and you are solely responsible for its lawfulness and for any data-protection, privacy, recording-consent, publicity, confidentiality, or notice obligations owed to others.

27. Security
Record My is designed to operate locally, but no software, device, operating system, or workflow can be guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or immune from data loss. Recordings often contain personal and confidential information. You are responsible for securing your Mac - including with a strong login password and, where appropriate, FileVault - for keeping macOS up to date, for maintaining backups, for protecting the recordings, projects, and exports you save, and for controlling who can access your Mac, your recordings library, and the information Record My keeps on it. Anyone who can use your macOS user account can open Record My and view your recordings.
28. No Warranty
Record My is provided “as is” and “as available,” with all faults and without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer and its owners, contributors, licensors, and affiliates disclaim all warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including the implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, non-infringement, availability, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and compatibility with any device, display, camera, microphone, iPhone, operating system, file, app, or service. Without limitation, the developer does not warrant that any recording will be captured completely, in sync, or with its sound, camera, or pointer; that any recording, project, or edit will be preserved, saved, or recoverable; that a deleted recording can be recovered; that any change can be undone; that saved or exported files will be complete, uncorrupted, faithful to the recording, or readable by other software or services; that any project will open; that any camera effect, redaction, crop, or shape will hide what you intend to hide; or that any purchase will be recognized at all times, including offline.
No oral or written information or advice given by the developer or by Apple creates a warranty. Should Record My or any function prove defective, you assume the entire cost of any servicing, repair, recovery, or correction. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence. You use Record My at your own risk.
29. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer and its owners, contributors, licensors, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss or damage of any kind, arising out of or relating to Record My or these Terms, including damages for: (a) loss of, damage to, or corruption of recordings, camera footage, sound, projects, exports, files, edits, backups, or data; (b) failed, incomplete, out-of-sync, delayed, or irreversible recording, saving, exporting, or deleting - including recordings deleted from the library or with Clean Up, recordings retaken or discarded, the last five seconds removed, and changes that cannot be undone - including as a result of app crashes, system crashes, power loss, force-quit, termination by the operating system, system updates, disconnected devices, revoked permissions, full or disconnected storage, or any other interruption; (c) changes to, loss of quality, sound, transparency, or detail in, or incompatibility of, saved or exported files; (d) projects that cannot be opened, including because their recordings were deleted, moved, or are unavailable; (e) the failure of any camera effect, redaction, crop, or shape to hide anything, or the disclosure of any information captured in a recording; (f) the unavailability, locking, or loss of Ultra features or purchase recognition, including while offline; (g) any claim that a recording you made, shared, or published was made without required consent or infringes the rights of others; (h) lost profits, revenue, business, commissions, opportunity, goodwill, or reputation, emotional distress, or business interruption; (i) the acts or omissions of Apple, iCloud, operating systems, file providers, device makers, meeting, streaming, or upload services, third-party apps, or other external systems; or (j) any unlawful, negligent, or unauthorized use of Record My by you or by any third party.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer’s total aggregate liability for all claims relating to Record My will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for the Record My purchase or subscription from which the claim arises during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) EUR 25. This cap applies per user and to all of your claims taken together. For free features, the developer’s liability is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law. Where liability for loss of data cannot be excluded, it is limited to the typical cost of restoring the data from the backup copies that you should have kept in accordance with Section 2.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where the law does not permit its exclusion, under mandatory product-liability law, or under the mandatory rights of consumers - including the rights of consumers in the European Union regarding the conformity of digital content and services under Directive (EU) 2019/770 and its national implementations.
30. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer and its owners, contributors, licensors, affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and successors (the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against all claims, demands, investigations, regulatory inquiries, enforcement actions, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, fines, penalties, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, expert fees, and reasonable internal investigation costs, in any jurisdiction, arising from or relating to: (a) your use, misuse, or inability to use Record My; (b) the recordings and other content you record, edit, save, export, publish, share, or delete with Record My, and their content; (c) your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (d) your violation of any law, regulation, court order, contract, workplace or school policy, service terms, or third-party right, including recording-consent, wiretapping, intellectual-property, privacy, data-protection, publicity, and confidentiality rights, and including the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, the Brazilian LGPD, the Chinese Personal Information Protection Law, the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Canadian PIPEDA; (e) any claim by a person who was recorded, seen, or heard, or whose screen, content, work, personal data, voice, or likeness appears in a recording you made, including any claim that a recording was made without required consent; (f) any covert, non-consensual, or unlawful recording, any monitoring or surveillance of any person, and any misleading or altered recording you represent as complete, unedited, or authentic; (g) your reliance on any content or output of Record My, including any redaction or camera effect; (h) your use of Record My in connection with employment, education, commercial, client, professional, journalistic, fiduciary, or other obligations owed to any third party; or (i) any chargeback, payment dispute, or fraudulent transaction initiated by you.
The Indemnified Parties may, at their option and at your expense, assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate. You must not settle, compromise, or admit liability in any such matter without the developer’s prior written consent, and you must promptly notify the developer at office@mahtca.com of any actual or threatened claim. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, these obligations apply whether or not the underlying claim is ultimately found to be valid, frivolous, or without merit, and they survive your deletion of Record My and any termination of these Terms.
31. Product Claims
You and the developer acknowledge that the developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Record My or your possession and use of it, including: (a) product-liability claims; (b) any claim that Record My fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; (c) claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar legislation; and (d) claims relating to recording, saving, exporting, automated results, or app performance. This Section does not make the developer liable for any claim or damage that is excluded or limited elsewhere in these Terms to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
32. Intellectual Property Claims
If a third party claims that Record My or your possession and use of it infringes that party’s intellectual-property rights, the developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim, subject to these Terms and applicable law. You must promptly notify the developer of any such claim and must not admit liability or settle it without the developer’s prior written consent. This Section does not apply to claims about content you record, create, or publish with Record My, which are your responsibility under Sections 14, 24, and 30.
33. Apple Warranty Acknowledgement
If Record My fails to conform to any applicable warranty that cannot legally be disclaimed, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for Record My, if any, in accordance with Apple’s rules. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Record My, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are the developer’s responsibility only to the extent required by applicable law and subject to these Terms.
34. Export and Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that: (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and (c) your use of Record My complies with all applicable export-control, sanctions, and trade laws, including those of the European Union and Romania, and with all applicable recording-consent, data-protection, privacy, intellectual-property, and consumer-protection laws. You may not use, export, re-export, import, sell, release, or transfer Record My except as permitted by applicable law and these Terms.
United States Government end users. Record My and its documentation are “Commercial Items,” as defined at 48 C.F.R. §2.101, consisting of “Commercial Computer Software” and “Commercial Computer Software Documentation,” licensed to United States Government end users only as Commercial Items and with only the rights granted to all other end users under these Terms.
35. Apple Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right, and will be deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
36. Availability, Updates, and Feature Changes
The developer may update, modify, suspend, remove, replace, or discontinue Record My or any feature at any time, and may move features between the free tier and Ultra, subject to applicable law and Apple’s rules. Updates may change how Record My records, edits, saves, and exports recordings and projects, and the export formats and settings it offers. Some features depend on your Mac’s capabilities, the version of macOS, available memory and storage, your displays, cameras, microphones, and iPhone, or third-party services. The developer does not guarantee that Record My or any feature will remain available, compatible, unchanged, or supported. Save copies of your important recordings before installing any update to Record My or macOS.
37. Events Outside the Developer’s Control
The developer is not liable for any delay, failure, partial performance, data loss, interruption, unavailability, degraded performance, loss of access, loss of purchase recognition, or other adverse outcome caused in whole or in part by events or conditions outside its reasonable control, including: acts or omissions of Apple, the App Store, the Apple Developer Program, or Apple’s in-app purchase, iCloud, or Continuity Camera services; changes, deprecations, or removals in operating systems, permissions, privacy controls, services, file formats, or device capabilities; failures of hardware, storage, displays, cameras, microphones, third-party apps, file providers, cloud services, or networks; malware, cyber attacks, or unauthorized access; natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, or terrorism; governmental, regulatory, or judicial action; power, utility, or internet failures; labour disputes; and failures of payment processors or App Store billing systems. During any such event, the developer may suspend, restrict, or modify any feature without prior notice and without liability, and is under no obligation to provide refunds, credits, or compensation except where required by applicable law.
38. Professional, Regulated, and High-Risk Use
Record My is a general-purpose consumer application for recording your screen and camera. It is not designed, tested, or certified for use where its failure, an incomplete or lost recording, or the disclosure of a recording could lead to death, personal injury, serious environmental or property damage, or significant financial, legal, or regulatory consequences. It is not designed for medical, forensic, or evidential recording, for security monitoring or surveillance, for regulated call or communications recording, or as a records-management, archiving, legal-hold, or evidence-preservation system, and its camera effects are not suitable for identifying or anonymizing people. If you use Record My in connection with commercial, client, teaching, publishing, journalistic, legal, medical, financial, governmental, regulated, or other professional work, you do so at your own risk and remain solely responsible for verifying every recording and file, for meeting your deadlines and your professional, contractual, record-keeping, retention, consent, and confidentiality obligations to clients and others, and for keeping your own copies and backups.
39. Assignment
You may not assign, transfer, delegate, or sublicense your rights or obligations under these Terms without the developer’s prior written consent, except where prohibited by applicable law. The developer may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, transfer of the app, change of control, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
40. Changes to These Terms
The version of these Terms published at recordmy.mahtca.com/terms/ is the authoritative and binding version. Any copy made available elsewhere, for example on the App Store, is provided for your convenience and may lag the published version; where they differ, the published version controls.
The developer may update these Terms to reflect changes in Record My, applicable law, Apple’s requirements, or its practices. When it does, the version number and effective date change. Where a change materially affects your rights, the developer will use reasonable efforts to inform you before it takes effect, for example within Record My or on its website, and may ask you to agree to the updated Terms before you continue to use Record My. If you do not accept an update, your remedy is to stop using and delete Record My, and to cancel any subscription through Apple. These principles apply equally to the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.
41. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of Record My, are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna, 11 April 1980) does not apply. The courts of Dolj County, Romania, have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute.
Nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside. Consumers in the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom may rely on those rules and may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where those rules allow. Consumers in Romania may also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro), including about alternative dispute resolution.
42. Severability and No Waiver
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or modified to achieve the closest lawful effect, and the remaining parts will remain in full force and effect. No failure or delay by the developer in exercising any right or remedy operates as a waiver of it.
43. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding Record My and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements on that subject. Apple’s terms, App Store rules, and applicable third-party terms may also apply separately.
44. Language
These Terms may be translated for convenience. If there is a conflict between a translation and the English version, the English version controls, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
45. Your Acknowledgement
By downloading, installing, opening, purchasing, or using Record My, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. In particular, you acknowledge that Record My cannot guarantee that your recordings, projects, or exports will be captured completely or preserved; that crashes, power failures, disconnected devices, and other interruptions can damage or destroy recordings; that deleting a recording from the library, retaking, discarding, or removing the last five seconds is permanent, and that some changes cannot be undone; that projects do not contain their recordings; that exports may not keep everything in your recording; that camera effects and redactions may be imperfect and may not hide what you intend; that you are responsible for the consent of the people you record and for the content you record and share; that you will keep copies of important recordings and regular backups; and that you accept these risks. If you do not agree, do not use Record My.
