How to Record All Your Screens at Once in Record My
Choose All Screens
Click “Start Recording” in the main window (⌘R) or choose “Start Recording…” from the menu bar. In “Choose what to record”, click “All Screens”, which reads “Every display at once”.
Include Every Display
Under “Screens”, keep “Record all screens” switched on. Every display records at once, each as its own track.
Pick an Arrangement
Choose “Side by Side” for one wide video with every screen in a row, or “Main + Inset” to let your main screen fill the frame while the others float over it.
Choose Your Main Screen
With “Main + Inset”, right-click a display in the list and choose “Make Background” to make it the large one.
Start and Stop
Set the “Frame rate” and “Sound” under “Recording”, then click “Start Recording”. When you’re done, click “Stop” and your take opens in the Motion Editor.
Two Ways to Frame a Multi-Screen Take
The footer sums up your choice, such as “3 screens (side by side) · 30 fps”, so you know exactly what you’re about to record.
- “Side by Side”: one wide video with every screen next to each other, ideal when you move between displays.
- “Main + Inset”: your main screen fills the frame and the others float over it, so the main action stays large.
Add Your Camera
Want your face in the shot too? Open Screen + Camera instead, select several screens under “Screens”, and turn on a camera under “Camera Overlay”.
Window, area and shaped captures record a single screen, so with several screens selected you capture each display in full. For one display at a time, try a single window or part of the screen.
Questions
Why does the All Screens tile say “One display connected”?
“All Screens” comes alive once a second display is connected. Plug it in, then open “Start Recording” again.
Does each screen stay separate?
Yes. Each screen keeps its own track, and the arrangement you pick decides how they share the frame in your video.
