How to Move or Hide Your Camera in Record My
Record With the Live Bubble
Choose “Screen + Camera” and keep “Show camera on screen while recording” switched on. Your camera floats over the screen exactly where it will appear.
Move, Resize or Hide It as You Go
Drag the bubble to move it. Drag the corner knob, or scroll or pinch, to resize it. Click the eye button to hide it, and the bubble shows “Hidden from video”. Click again to bring it back.
Select Your Camera in the Editor
Press “Stop”. Click your camera on the video or its lane. Your moves are already there as keyframes, and your hidden parts as hidden spans.
Pin It or Animate It
In “Motion”, choose “Pinned” for one position the whole video, or “Animated” to move it over time. Move the playhead, then reposition the camera or click “Add Keyframe”. Choose how it travels under “Glide in”.
Hide It Exactly Where You Want
In “Visibility”, use “Hide from Here” at the playhead and “Show from Here” to bring it back, or choose “Show All”.
Let Your Camera Step Aside on Its Own
In a “Screen + Camera” recording, open “Visibility” and find “Smart auto-hide”. Choose “Off”, “Fade” or “Step Aside”. With “Fade”, the camera gently fades whenever it would cover something. With “Step Aside”, it moves out of the way.
Two toggles decide what it makes room for: “Pointer” for your recorded pointer, and “Drawings” for your annotations. What you point at stays in view, and so does every arrow you add. See adding arrows and text.
Give It the Right Look
The “Look” module shapes the bubble: “Circle”, “Rounded”, “Squircle” or “Rectangle”. Set the aspect, corners, zoom and opacity, and add “Mirror”, “Shadow” or “Border” for a finished feel.
- “Placement” snaps the camera to a corner, an edge or the center, in sizes S, M, L and XL.
- “Glide in” chips set the feel of each move, from “Linear” to “Spring”, and from “Instant” to “1.5 s”.

Questions
What if I forget to move my camera while recording?
No problem. Every move can be made afterwards. Select the camera, choose “Animated” in “Motion”, and place it wherever you like at each moment.
Can I undo a camera move?
Yes. The undo and redo buttons at the top-left of the preview cover camera edits. To remove a single move, put the playhead on its keyframe and click “Delete Keyframe” in “Motion”.
Where do I start?
Record with “Screen + Camera” first. See recording screen and webcam. Moving, hiding and smart auto-hide are part of Record My Ultra.
You can do this with Record My on your Mac.
