How to Record One Window in Record My

  1. Open the Mode Picker

Click “Start Recording” in the main window (⌘R) or choose “Start Recording…” from the menu bar. “Choose what to record” appears.

  2. Set Your Options

In the options bar, pick a “FRAME RATE” of 15, 30 or 60, choose your “SOUND”, and switch “Cursor” on or off.

  3. Click Window, Then Your Window

Click the “Window” tile, which reads “Pick a window”. Hover over your windows and a label shows each app and window name. Click the one you want and recording begins.

  4. Use the Recording Bar

A floating bar shows “REC” and the timer. Pause when you need a moment, remove the last 5 seconds, or retake from scratch.

  5. Stop and Save

Click “Stop” to open your take in the Motion Editor. Click “Save Video” and choose a folder to keep the original recording as a .mov.

Just the Window, Nothing Else

Window mode keeps the focus on one app. Your other apps and your desktop stay out of the frame, so viewers see only what you mean to show.

Recording starts the moment you click the window, so have it ready before you choose the tile.
